The Last Weekend of Sakura in Tokyo
A family from California, U.S.A spends the day with Cyber Bunny!
Itinerary - Asakusa
Kameido Tenjin Shrine (10 minutes away by car)
Asakusa
The parents accompanied by the cool aunt and cool grandma wanted to create core memories for their Little One, who is starting to learn Japanese. He is also a huge fan of my songs, especially the “The Hiragana Song.”
This tour focused on activities, culture and experiences, so I planned the day on just that!
The family came back from Hiroshima and stayed near Asakusa.
Kameido Tenjin Shrine
This shrine is one of the ten shrines in Tokyo dedicated to Sugawara Michizane, known as the god of learning. He is actually a human btw.
In Japanese culture, it is common to dedicate a scared building to a god, emperor or a shogun general, but not to a human. Michizane must’ve been one genius!

Do you see the turtles sunbathing on the rocks?
The prime time to visit this shrine is during Wisteria Season (end of April to May).
Garden Art & Architecture
Cool Grandma mentioned she was a gardener back home, so I really wanted her to see this small Japanese garden and this famous bridge used in many ukiyoe woodblock printing.
There are 3 bridges spanning over the Shinji-Ike (translation: Heart Pond).
Otoko-bashi (Men's Bridge): The first large, steeply arched taiko-bashi (drum bridge) you cross when entering. It represents the past.
Hira-bashi (Flat Bridge): The middle, flat bridge. It represents the present.
Onna-bashi (Women's Bridge): The third, smaller arched bridge closest to the main shrine. It represents the future.
Each bridge represents the past lived, the present you can now see, and the hope of the future. It is said that each bridge you cross will purify your heart.

Asakusa

Non-dairy strawberry smoothie with Koji
Caught a very cute mother-son moment on video that made my heart melt <3
Shopping
Cool aunt was on a mission to buy a hanten (半纏) is a traditional, cotton-padded Japanese winter jacket. Originating in the 18th century, it was favored by commoners for its warmth. I brought her here and she got a good indigo one! Super cozy for those cold film shoots!
Little One got a summer jinbei
Purikura Photo Booth- This specific booth went easy on the face filter
Get cultured with Japanese stage arts
Taishu Engeki Theatre is different from Kabuki. It’s a lot more jazzy and upbeat. A lot of tourists miss this spot or it’s too intimidating to enter!
Cool aunt works in film and entertainment. She is so talented and creative, so I wanted to bring her here to be inspired for her next idea.
Taishu Engeki is a great way to immerse yourself in the cultural experience. It is more entertaining than kabuki theatre. You can see the stage arts and classical stories of Japan in a bold flashy way.
Cool aunt loved the Taishu Engeki actors and became a fan! They usually charge to take fan photos from locals, but I gave them a wink and they understood the assignment :)
We skipped our way through Hoppy Street. Hop hop hop!
Lots of locals were already enjoying Happy Hour from lunch time.
By the end of the day, we became best friends! Will he visit me again 10 years later?
It was a fun day full of giggles!
This Little One reminds me why I do what I do.
I show up online and on the streets as this strange Bunny girl character- tbh it can get embarrassing from time to time.
People wonder, “why the heck is she dressed up like that?” “That is so cringe.”
To me, the answer is simple.
I want to be an example to the kids- that you can be unique, one of a kind, helpful, respected, weird, and still be cool at the same time.
Cyber Bunny creates fun educational content for kids of all ages… and even for the older crowds who love to travel mindfully!
The Bunny character is a symbol that learning + traveling CAN be a fun experience when you have the right company.
Because it’s never too late to learn anything.
Try new things! Get out of your comfort zone!
Learning keeps us young and our minds stimulated + curious.
The fact that kids like Little One thinks I’m cool, that’s all the social proof I need.
I hope he can still think I’m this cool 10 years from now!
I’m thankful our paths crossed. This group was a hard one for me to say goodbye to.
Thank you for choosing ME to be your alarm clock <3
Best of luck back home and I’m sure you’ll be back in Japan!!!
