How to spend your last day in Tokyo before your flight

Cyber Bunny took a super-speedy tour with Italian-Australian family from Sydney, Australia on their last day in Japan before literally heading to Narita airport. We were on a tight schedule!

We started with a hotel pick up at 9 am, since they had to be on the road to the airport by 1:30 pm.

Stop 1: Suga Shrine

The sisters had a request to visit Suga Shrine in Shinjuku area. This is the famous stair case in the popular anime, “Your Name”. The parents were not aware of this animation movie, but don’t worry, Cyber Bunny understands how important this ordinary looking staircase is to the sisters. We reenacted this scene and this is how it went:

Stop 2: Gotokuji Temple “Lucky Cat Shrine”

A 30-minute drive to Gotokuji Temple- home to the lucky cat figurines.

Legend says a cat helps the strangling lord and he returns the favor for saving his life by re-building the temple and dedicating it to the cat.

Cats are symbolic to Japanese culture.

Purchase a lucky cat at the office (cash at the window or credit card from the vending machine), manifest a goal and when it comes true, bring the cat back with the rest so it can be burned later.

“We haven’t done this since our wedding!”

I’m here to play cupid and re-ignite that fire :)

It was the last week of April and the wisteria were near its end.

Stop 3: Grab a Ghibli Cream Puff in Shimokitazawa, Setagaya

The younger sister is a fan of Ghibli. Since they didn’t have time on this trip to book tickets at the Ghibli Museum, I surprised her with a stop by the famous Shirohige's Cream Puff Factory - Tokyo. It was a miracle they still had some left!

Stop 3: Fortune telling

Behind these curtains, there is a fortune teller waiting for you…

The girls were curious about their future. They could ask one topic question (love, work, relationships, health etc.).

We went to a tiny room and the fortune teller asked them to write their name and birthdate on a piece of paper. She calculated their birth charts and somehow knew everything about each sister.

This time, she did not use tarot or read any palms. She was conversing with the spirit above their heads and revealed what the spirit advised them to do.

Super cool right?!

Bon voyage! Have a safe flight back to Australia <3
